Rockwood Retirement Communities (Whitworth) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team, as the Campus Nurse. This position is responsible for answering calls regarding care assistance throughout the entire campus. The campus nurse will complete assessments when needed (e.g., if an independent resident has fallen in their home or on campus). The campus nurse will also assist in the roles of infection prevention as well as resident advocate/liaisons.
Job Shift: FT, Tuesday-Saturday
Pay Range: $44-$46 per hour
- + Shift differential for Evening and/or Night Shift
- + Differential in lieu of benefits
Responsibilities:
- Complete assessments when needed (e.g., if an independent resident has fallen in their home or on campus).
- Assist in the roles of infection prevention as well as resident advocate/liaisons.
- Respond to all urgent health care calls throughout the campus.
- Oversee the Infection Prevention program. This would include partnering with both campuses to ensure consistent practices/policies/procedures are followed.
- Oversee the incident investigation process. Ensures the appropriate reports are completed in a timely manner.
- Act as a resident advocate by making rounds, meeting with residents, assisting with referrals for additional services that may be necessary and scheduling appointments.
- Supervise the safety of residents receiving nursing services by Medication Aides, NACs/NARs to ensure care plans are followed.
- Document the nursing care given and the residents response to that care.
- Communicate significant changes in the resident’s status to appropriate members of the health care team. This communication shall take place in a time period consistent with the resident’s need of care.
- Practice tact and understanding when dealing with nursing service personnel (internal and external), residents and their families.
- Maintain, implement and ensure the most current and up-to-date practices, policies and procedures are in place for infection control in assisted living communities.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, families, and co-workers.
- Complete all necessary required training and in services as assigned.
- Provide ongoing communication with residents and as necessary family members.
- Address resident and other groups of common interest.
- Complete and notify families of LOC change utilizing statement of cost form in collaboration with the Business Administrator
- Respond to IL, AL, and MC emergencies and provide direct caregiver support
- Manage all LTC insurance claim submissions monthly
- Update and maintain all service plans and tasks or collaborate with direct care LN’s to complete
- Hold all monthly NAC meetings/in-service
- Provide advanced PCC training to LN’s as needed
- Manage HMO’s in absence of Medical Records
- Interface with in-house provider to answer questions and process orders as needed
- Maintain work operations by following policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident information.
- Adhere to all professional standards, policy and procedures; federal, state and local requirements.
- Work cooperatively with supervisors and staff and maintain a good working relationship with all staff.
- Uphold the RRC Values in all interactions.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Three years of nursing experience preferred, with at least one in a nursing supervisory role
- Three years’ experience in senior housing/healthcare
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington state and in good standing
- Multi-tasking skills
- Effective oral, written, and reading skills
- Previous experience with Point Click Care preferred
- Current CPR certification
