Rockwood Retirement Communities is looking for a friendly, informative, and welcoming Maintenance Helper to join our Rockwood at South Hill team. This individual will work with the Environmental Manager in keeping a safe environment for residents, guests, and employees.

Pay Range: $17.00 – $18.18 per hour

Shift Type: Mon-Fri | 8am- 4pm


  • Drive Rockwood vehicles to pick up garbage, parts, and supplies
  • Perform various work orders and preventative maintenance work orders in or on residential homes and/or apartments in a timely manner
  • Change filters
  • Assist in annual alarm testing of houses
  • Remove accumulations of snow when needed
  • Must work well under pressure and be able to prioritize
  • Maintain work operations by following policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident information
  • Adhere to all professional standards, policy and procedures; federal, state, and local requirements
  • Work cooperatively with supervisors and staff and maintain a good working relationship with all staff
  • Uphold the RRC Values in all interactions
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED; one to three months of related work experience and/or training
  • Current and valid driver’s license and insurance preferred
  • Multi-tasking skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Communication skills
