Foundation Success Stories

The Rockwood Residents’ Foundation assists Rockwood Retirement Communities in carrying out its mission of providing excellence in service and housing to older adults by promoting independence, wellness and lifelong vitality. The Foundation has proven to do just that throughout the years by seeking, accepting and stewarding gifts from residents, friends and staff to support the following funds:

Residents’ Assistance Endowment and Immediate Need Funds: Helps residents who have outlived their financial resources, through no fault of their own, so that they may continue to call Rockwood their home.

Community Benefit Fund: Used for improvements that benefit residents’ quality of life. This fund can purchase items that are not affordable in the normal operating budget, so that the expense of non-budgeted items and programs are not passed on to Rockwood residents.

Wellness and Exercise Endowment Fund: This fund is only in place at the South Hill campus. It provides support for the dynamic LiveWell lifestyle that Rockwood strives to maintain.

Employee Financial Assistance Fund: Aids Rockwood employees who are facing unexpected financial hardships.

Staff Development Fund: Provides financial scholarships to employees who are furthering their education in any field.
