Pay Range: $17-18 per hour.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Assist in menu planning, taking advantage of foods in season and local availability
  • Oversee the preparation of various health center foods depending on menu created by dietitians, for each meal of the day
  • Oversee evening line chefs and coach/mentor chefs on quality and timing expectations
  • Oversee evening dishwashing staff and assist them with time management and duties as assigned when needed
  • Conduct audits of storage areas to assure FIFO, proper labeling and dating, and hot and cold holding standards are being met

  • Operate kitchen equipment in preparation for meals

Required Skills and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current Washington State food handler’s permit & Serv Safe certified
  • 3-5 years food service or restaurant experience, leadership experience is preferred

  • Memorize menus and modifiers for on-demand recitation
  • Up-sell desserts and drinks as appropriate for individual guests and parties
  • Manage large groups quickly and efficiently through attentive service and precise order taking
  • Order, receive, or stock supplies or retail products
  • Serve prepared foods, such as muffins, biscotti, or bagels

Required Skills and Experience

  • 1+ year wait staff/serving experience and/or barista experience
  • Excellent customer service
  • Current Washington State Food Handler permit
  • MAST training within 60 days of employment
  • Comfort with POS computer system
