Rockwood Retirement Communities is looking for a friendly, informative, and welcoming HR Assistant to join our team. This person will work primarily at Rockwood’s South Hill campus, but may also work at Rockwood at Whitworth as needed.

Pay Range: $19.50 – $21.10

Shift Type: M-F | 8:00am – 4:30am

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for administrative support to the HR team.
  • Conduct a pre-screen interview with applicants. Select qualified job applicants or refer them to managers, making hiring accommodations when appropriate.
  • Track open positions and status of candidates throughout the recruiting process.
  • Perform customer service functions.
  • Assist with new employee orientation, onboarding, and updating records with new hires.
  • Attend job fairs (virtually and in-person).
  • Assist employees to stay in compliance with training courses and employee surveys.
  • Update recruitment sites as needed and stay within the recruitment budget while posting open positions in multiple job searching platforms.
  • Assist other departments with clerical duties as assigned.
  • Assist with the production of the company employee newsletter.
  • Conduct exit interviews with employees leaving the organization.
  • Prepare birthday/anniversary cards for employees each month.
  • Create informational packets for onboarding, on‑the‑job injuries, benefits, and general orientation.
  • Complete/sort new hire paperwork as necessary.
  • Attend/complete all required training and in-services and attend meetings as assigned.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Previous HR experience preferred with HR course work also preferred
  • Two years’ business office experience preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Working understanding of human resources principles, practices, and procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • English language proficiency

Rockwood Retirement Communities is looking to hire a Full-Time Marketing and Communications Specialist for our Rockwood at Whitworth campus. This position assists the marketing team in building and maintaining high occupancy across the community. Remains knowledgeable of our Life Plan Community model and be able to discuss accurately and compassionately with potential residents and family members. Maintains a positive image of the community with referral sources, residents, family members, vendors, and employees.

Pay Range: $23 – $26 per hour

Shift Type: Monday – Friday | 8:00am – 4:30pm

Responsibilities

  • The Marketing and Communications Specialist main responsibility is to assist the marketing department to further sales to new incoming residents.
  • Create marketing events that are professional and well managed. This will include invitation design, working with food service and activities departments, hiring musicians, decorations and RSVP management.
  • Utilize the CRM (Customer Relation Management) system to its full potential. This includes entering leads promptly and accurately, updating activity and financial transactions and running reports.
  • Greet visitors both in person and on the phone.
  • Assist the sales team with initial tours when needed.
  • Coordinate move-in details for new residents. This includes working directly with the incoming residents and communicating with other departments (accounting, maintenance, activities, etc.).
  • Manage incoming resident paperwork and files.
  • Order all office supplies and monitor sales tools quantities (brochures, handbooks, etc.)
  • Help to manage the waitlist and ensure accuracy of data.
  • Create and send eblasts on a regular basis.
  • Manage model apartment set up and take down.
  • Accurately complete and distribute weekly sales reports.
  • Work directly with Corporate Communications Manager to create community communication pieces (this may include flyers, newsletters and invitations).
  • Ability to post updates on the Rockwood at Whitworth website.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors or Associate’s degree (A.A.) (preferred)
  • Two years’ experience in a professional office setting (preferred)
  • One to three years of proven successful sales experience

Rockwood at Whitworth is looking for an experienced Full-Time Cook to join our Food Service department. This position is responsible for providing a pleasurable dining experience for our residents, their families, and our team members by preparing high-quality food.

Pay Range: $19 – $23 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Cooks food in quantities according to the menu and number of persons to be served.
  • Plans menu, taking advantage of foods in season and local availability.
  • May serve meals.
  • May order supplies.
  • Prepare various foods depending on menu created by dietitians, for each meal of the day.
  • Operate kitchen equipment in preparation for meals.
  • Required to clean work surfaces following shift: sweep floors, wipe down counter space, cover and store unused foods.
  • Able to create meals that are appropriate for the elderly and in large quantities.
  • Able to work at a constant pace to ensure the food is ready for each meal of the day.

Required Skills and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current Washington State food handlers permit
  • 2-3 years food service or restaurant experience required
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Comfortable standing, stopping, squatting, twisting, and moving frequently
  • Ability to pass a food service sanitation course
  • Familiarity with general kitchen equipment and appliances
  • Strong working knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow recipes
