Did you know, every 11-14 seconds an older adult is seen in an emergency department or at an urgent care facility for a fall-related injury? That’s over 3.2 million emergency department or urgent care visits annually. Of those 3.2 million visits, approximately 900,000 resulted in hospitalizations and roughly 29,000 deaths. For you fiscally concerned folks, these falls cost the United States $50 billion per year in medical-related expenses.

Andrew Gorton appointed General Manager of Rockwood South Hill.
I’m pleased to announce that Andy Gorton has been promoted to the position of General Manager, Rockwood South Hill. As GM, Andy will oversee all operations of the entire campus including dining services, healthcare and environmental services. Andy will continue to report to me. Andy’s current position of Executive Director of Resident Services is being eliminated.
A position similar to the South Hill GM position currently exists at Rockwood at Whitworth. It currently bears the title “Executive Director” but it is being renamed General Manager, Rockwood at Whitworth. Rick Milsow, the current Executive Director, is retiring this November. We have commenced our search for his replacement to serve as that campus’s General Manager.
