Memory Care is a specialty at Rockwood South Hill, with in-depth experience in caring for family members with symptoms of Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. Families can feel confident turning to Rockwood to provide proper care for loved ones and the care they cannot always provide themselves. Our exceptionally knowledgeable staff help to guide residents and their families through the challenges that come with Alzheimer’s and dementia care.
The Courtyard is an inviting, secure, residential setting with dining rooms, living rooms, fireplaces, an enclosed patio and outdoor garden with walking area. Each resident has a private bedroom with private bath. Rockwood South Hill is located in a park-like setting, and gives residents a sense of peace and calmness. We believe environment and the atmosphere that surrounds you plays a big role on one's quality of life.
Our creative, full-time activities program means memory care residents receive attention and enjoy doing a variety of crafts or activities. Residents can engage in music therapy, outings and participate in our exercise and fitness programs. We also have a beauty/barber shop where they can feel good about taking care of their appearances.

Rockwood South Hill is a Life Plan Community, also known as a CCRC. A supportive environment where a resident can start out in an independent living apartment and smoothly transition to assisted living, skilled nursing, or memory care if–and only if–the need arises. This is a very important benefit for a spouse that is no longer able to care for their spouse who is struggling with dementia and Alzheimer's. The husband or wife can live on the same campus in an independent or assisted living apartment and still be able to visit their loved one daily in The Courtyard.
Our licensed staff develops relationships with the resident and their families helping to nurture and facilitate a more caring environment. Our nursing staff guides your family member through various activities and help them engage physically and mentally to improve their overall wellness.
We provide 24-hour care delivered by a licensed nurse and certified nursing assistants who are always on site. Each resident at Rockwood Memory Care is assessed and provided a personalized care plan.
