Temporary Position, Days

Location: Rockwood South Hill

Job Description

This is a Temporary position covering an LOA through January 2022!

The Activity Assistant will assist in planning, organizing, and developing quality activities and programs that meet the individual needs of the residents in Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing.

Job Shift: 

  • Fri-Sun (6:00 am to 2:30 pm)

  • Lead scheduled activities per monthly calendars
  • Provide individual, small group, and large group programming to residents with varying levels of ability
  • Under the supervision of the Health Services Activities Manager, assist with programming focused on person-centered care for physical, intellectual, emotional, and social needs
  • Document the description of program activities; including supplies and time needed to coordinate the activity per Assisted Living requirements
  • Chart basic daily activities for residents in Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living and Memory Care
  • Update activity requests on a scheduled basis
  • Complete activity assessments on residents upon admissions into the Skilled Nursing Health Center
  • Communicate resident concerns to Health Services Activity Manager or appropriate team member
  • Drive residents in RRC’s vehicle to and from events

Required Skills and Experience

  • Valid driver’s license and insurance
  • Complete RRC’s a passenger van training
  • Certified Nursing Assistant, or willing to complete training and become certified
  • Mental Health and Dementia certificates or obtain within 90 days of employment
  • Current Washington State Food handler’s card
  • CPR certified within 30 days of employment
  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • English language proficiency
  • Ability to work independently with self-discipline and self-motivation
